Faith Technologies Debuts “Charged!” Safety Videos

Oct. 16, 2020
Video series reveals how safety relates to the mind, body, and soul.

Faith Technologies, based in Menasha, Wis., recently debuted its Charged! video series, designed to illustrate how the company is putting safety and productivity at the forefront of its actions and share procedures that others can implement into their own organizations. With three available episodes so far, the company plans to continue rolling out episodes throughout the rest of the year.

“In the construction industry, it used to be thought that productivity and safety were not connected and in order to be more productive, you had to cut corners and sacrifice safety," said Faith CEO Mike Jansen, in a press release highlighting the series. “We believe the opposite – that you can’t have one without the other and having a safe environment is what drives productivity.”

Early in the first episode, Jansen discusses how safety involves “caring for the whole person, mind, body, and spirit.” Each of the three episodes currently available are focused around one of those core tenets.

The first episode focuses on the “mind” aspect of safety. Rocky Rowlett, vice president of safety, shares how safety can be engineered by recognizing hazards before they come up and planning work around those hazards. By performing safety audits, the company has worked to identify and analyze potential hazards before they come up in real life. Watch the full video below.

The second episode centers on the “body” factor – how to keep individuals safe on the job site. The company shares some of the strategies it implemented to keep their workers safe, such as a “ladders last” initiative or moving manufacturing offsite if possible. Watch the entire episode below.

Lastly, episode three illustrates the “soul” portion of safety. Jansen starts the video off by asking, “What’s the way that touches the soul? That’s the purpose.” He shares that if individuals can recognize why they should care about safety, then it will help empower them to succeed in that aspect. The full video can be viewed below.
