Shermco Industries Named 25th Fastest Growing Privately Held Company in North Texas
On November 15, Southern Methodist University released its annual Dallas 100 list during a reception and dinner at the Meyerson Symphony Center. Shermco Industries made the list for a second time — this time as the 25th fastest growing privately-held company in North Texas.
Ron Widup, Shermco president, says he is honored to make the list, compiled by the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship and published by the Dallas Business Journal each year. "This is an exciting time at Shermco, and we feel fortunate to be growing and hiring during this time of economic recovery," said Widup. "With over 54 positions to fill within our company, along with our tremendous growth and expansion in both electrical power and rotating machinery services, there are many opportunities at Shermco for qualified candidates. And it doesn't hurt to know that we've also made the Best Places to Work ranking many times."
Recently, Shermco completed a multi-million dollar expansion and technological upgrades to its Irving, Texas, headquarters and has expanded into the San Antonio market with a new sales and production service facility. The company has also taken additional office space in Irving, Texas, to accommodate the company's expanding engineering department.
