2020’s 30 Under 30 EC&M Electrical All Stars: Cody Vincent

May 21, 2020

Cody Vincent
Job Title: Foreman
Company: Encore Electric
Location: Lakewood, Colo.
Age: 27
Years on the Job: 6
Interests: Mountain biking, dirt biking, and hunting.

With both a father and brother who are electricians, Cody Vincent pursued a future in the electrical trade because he enjoys working with his hands and solving problems. The native of Leadville, Colo., completed a four-year apprenticeship with the Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain program, which helped prepare him for his career in the industry.

“It got me excited about the National Electrical Code, which allows me to keep customers safe,” Vincent says. “I also use electrical theory to troubleshoot and to double-check electrical plans.”

Vincent has spent his electrical career so far at Encore Electric — from an apprentice to a journeyman to a foreman. In his current position, his workday begins at 7 a.m. with a morning meeting reviewing daily goals and potential safety hazards. He specializes in mechanical equipment coordination, piping, and connections.

“Not only does Cody do his job with a can-do attitude that is contagious to those around him, but he takes it upon himself to mentor apprentices and teach journeyman prep classes on his own dime and time,” says Bob Bergman, project manager. “Cody is inspired to be a leader and pass on the knowledge that he has. That knowledge has served him well as he rises through the ranks of our high-achieving culture extremely quickly.”

Bergman adds that Vincent is a selfless leader who embraces a true sense of team.

“It’s not just staying late to make sure the customer gets their power turned back on or doing right by our organization; it’s in his entire demeanor,” Bergman says. “He is always looking to incorporate technology into his work, by using BIM and by teaching the ropes of digital blueprints to apprentices. Cody is a rising star in our industry, and we’re honored to have him alongside us.”
