2020’s 30 Under 30 EC&M Electrical All Stars: Bailey Quier

May 21, 2020

Bailey Quier
Job Title: Project Engineer
Company: The Superior Group
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Age: 25
Years on the Job: 3
Interests: Spending time with her husband and two daughters, the outdoors, home décor, and attending National Association of Women in Construction events

Bailey Quier studied architecture at The Ohio State University, but a year into college, she decided it was not a good fit and began exploring other options.

“I found the construction systems management program, and it stuck,” Quier says. “There I was, exposed to construction basics, and I found my place.”

At a career fair, she discovered opportunities at The Superior Group (TSG), where she landed an internship. Upon graduation, the company offered her a career to specialize in electrical project management.

“I have the opportunity to be in our home office to learn from multiple highly skilled managers and the opportunity to visit multiple sites to learn from some of our best electricians,” says Quier, who was born and raised in Logan, Ohio. “To keep learning, I study everything that comes in front of me and ask questions about the things I do not know.”

As a woman in the electrical industry, she says she brings a different perspective. At the same time, she balances her role as a wife, mother, professional, and a member of the National Association of Women in Construction. In her present position, she has an opportunity for growth, exposure to multiple projects, and the ability to serve as the point of contact for specific issues or questions about drawings.

“There is a constant learning curve, and it is almost always busy,” she adds.

Technology is of utmost importance to the tradespeople, so she is involved in testing software and serves as a resource to provide assistance.

“We use technology to manage the decisions made about the project and to lay out the parts and pieces for install,” she says. “Without software, project execution would slow down drastically across the board.”
