Every fall, the staff of EC&M unveils its highly anticipated Top 50 electrical contractors list, ranked specifically by electrical and datacom revenue. For many years, Top 50 players have managed to top their previous year's performances with each passing survey. This year, the collective group posted a 20% gain over last year – marking the biggest year-over-year increase in 15 years. Despite this impressive revenue jump, top electrical contractors continue to face some serious challenges, including rising inflation, ongoing supply chain delays, and labor shortages. For 2022, the Top 50 Electrical Contractors pulled in more than $40 billion (based on 2021 numbers), surpassing the 2021 total of more than $34 billion and $33 from 2020.
This photo gallery offers a sneak peek at the companies making it into the Top 20 spots, listed in descending order and based on their 2021 electrical sales data.
