The McKeesport-Duquesne Bridge in Pennsylvania reopened last Wednesday evening several hours after an electrical fire forced it to close and caused intermittent power outages in the area, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
According to a WPXI.com report, investigators said the fire started underneath the bridge when wires caught fire, creating smoke in the area.
Duquesne Light said it had a cable failure under the bridge and believed it was caused by the weather or heat. Duquesne Light told Channel 11 all 1000 customers who were affected by the electrical fire had their power restored, although some commercial properties were affected longer.
