Electrician Dies in Construction Accident at Baylor

Jeffrey Thaemert, 51, of Waco, was working for Rosendin Electric of Dallas.

An independent electrician died last week in an accident at the construction site of the business school building on the Baylor campus. Jeffrey Thaemert, 51, of Waco, was working for Rosendin Electric of Dallas.

According to a statement from Baylor University, officials are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. The accident occurred at 11:45 a.m. on June 12.

Ken Starr, president and chancellor of Baylor, released the following statement: "It is with a heavy heart that I write to you concerning the tragic death of Mr. Jeffrey Thaemert, an electrician and resident of our beloved Waco, who died yesterday morning working on the construction of our new business school building ....This is a terrible tragedy that touches every member of our community. Our thoughts and prayers go immediately to the family of Mr. Thaemert and his friends."
