Milwaukee Tool recently enhanced its line of twist-drilling accessories with the next generation of SHOCKWAVE Red Helix titanium drill bits. Engineered for extreme durability and longer life in wood, plastic, and metal applications, these new bits provide up to five times the life of black oxide drill bits, according to the company. Two new features include: a Quad Edge tip, which delivers longer life with a precision start and four cutting edges to stay sharper longer, and Enhanced Tapered Web, which acts as an internal backbone and strengthens the bit to reduce premature breakage. This line is designed with a Variable Helix, which includes a 35° helical angle that varies along the flute, ending at 15° and limiting heat build-up for faster material removal.
