The first four tables in Chapter 9 provide data that apply to raceway. Following those are five tables that apply to conductors:
- Table 5: Dimensions of Insulated Conductors and Fixture Wires. The table is arranged by type (e.g., RHW) and sorted by size (in AWG or kcmil). Find the type, look at the desired size, and you will see the approximate area and diameter for that conductor. You will notice there are also asterisked versions of some conductors. The asterisk means that there is no outer cover. Table 5 applies only to conductors that are round concentric-lay-stranded.
- Table 5A is similar to Table 5, but for round compact-stranded conductors.
- Table 8: Conductor Properties. For a given size conductor, you get the area, number of strands, diameter, and DC resistance at 75°C.
- Table 9: Alternating-Current and Reactance for 600V Cables. The title is a bit longer than that, and it is important to read the notes below. As with the other tables, it is sorted by conductor size.
- Table 10: Conductor Stranding. This provides stranding information for conductors not found in Table 8.
