The city of Detroit will receive a $4 million settlement from LED manufacturer Leotek Electronics over thousands of LED streetlights the city believed threatened to dim a third of its lighting grid, according to a recent report from The Detroit News. The city alleged that 19,500 lights were faulty, causing $7 million in total damages. After the settlement, the Public Lighting Authority Detroit paid the remaining $3 million.
