Houston-based Direct Energy has announced its intention to acquire the assets and business of Clockwork Home Services, Sarasota, Fla., for US$183 million. The companies will combine to become the largest provider of heating and cooling, plumbing, and electrical services to more than three million households annually in North America.
Trans-Lux Corp.
Norwalk, Conn.-based Trans-Lux Corp. has announced the formation of a new subsidiary company, Trans-Lux Energy. The new company will feature a comprehensive offering of the latest LED lighting technologies that provide facilities and public infrastructure with green lighting solutions that emit less heat, save energy, and enable creative designs.
Michaels Engineering
LaCrosse, Wis.-based Michaels Engineering's office in the historic Doerflinger Building has achieved gold certification under the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design (LEED) for commercial interiors (CI) rating system. The office is the first project in the Coulee Region awarded LEED gold certification, as well as the first project in western Wisconsin certified under the LEED CI rating system.
