If you were an electrical engineer looking for the best possible salary in the nation last year, you might have been considering a move to the Last Frontier state. This year, according to the latest numbers released from the Bureau of Labor Statistics in its "Occupational Employment and Wages, May 2019 Study," Alaska didn't make the top five. Moving from third to first on this year's list, the highest-paying locale for electrical engineers is the District of Columbia. In addition to Alaska, Vermont and Maryland also fell off the list, replaced by newcomers New Mexico, California, and New Jersey. Let's take a look at the rankings in descending order, keeping in mind that they do not take cost of living into consideration.
