Paoli, Pa., recently announced the acquisition of Solidstate Controls, Inc., a supplier of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems for the process of power generation industries, from Columbus Sales Corp., an affiliate of Marmon Industrial Companies LLC. Paoli, Pa., recently announced the acquisition of Solidstate Controls, Inc., a supplier of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems for the process of power generation industries, from Columbus Sales Corp., an affiliate of Marmon Industrial Companies LLC. Ametek paid approximately $36 million for the acquisition.

Located in Columbus, Ohio, Solidstate Controls has about 250 employees and estimated 2002 sales of $45 million. Key markets for Solidstate’s products include oil production, oil refining, chemical, petrochemical, steel, and power generation, including fossil fuel and nuclear power utilities.
