The Houston-based National Telecom Alliance (NTA) is the first nationwide alliance of privately held electrical and telecommunications contractors. A business and marketing organization modeled on successful alliances in other contracting industries, the organization will use proven methodologies to teach telecommunications contractors how to expand their businesses, radically improve sales and marketing effectiveness, increase labor productivity, and leverage contracts, relationships, and services.

“Market fluctuations in the last 12 months have led to changes in the telecommunications industry that will require more aggressive sales and management techniques for contractors working in those markets,” says Michael O'Mara, CEO of NTA. “Telecommunications customers are becoming more demanding, requiring contractors to bundle services, respond more timely, and provide seamless delivery of multilocation projects, oftentimes in a several-state geographic region. To capture and maintain quality clients, contractors must recognize that their customers aren't general contractors anymore, but technology professionals that expect a high degree of customer service.”

NTA's founding members include O'Mara, managing partner of Acquisitions Management Group (AMG); and the former president of a $21 million mechanical contractor who participated in that industry's first contractor alliance. Founding member companies include contractors with revenues ranging from $1 million to more than $100 million per year. The current membership represents combined annual revenues of more than $300 million.
