IEC Chesapeake Receives Material Donation from Quick Mount PV for Classroom Training and Labs

The donated material will be an excellent way to demonstrate the functionality of and address the safety aspects related to roof mounted PV systems, says IEC Chesapeake trainer

IEC Chesapeake (IECC), Odenton, Md., recently announced that it will be receiving an in-kind material donation of flashings (used for photovoltaic (PV) mounting) from California-based company, Quick Mount PV. The all-aluminum construction of the full-sized flashings with stainless steel hardware is ideal for roof-mounted solar energy systems, providing proper waterproofing for roof penetrations made during installation.

“Donating mount flashings for classroom training and labs was a logical opportunity for Quick Mount PV to support IEC Chesapeake’s efforts to better educate existing and future installers about key components vital to the stability and reinforcement of roof mounted PV systems,” says Quick Mount PV sales manager, Kelli Ross.

Jeff Gilbert, president of Azimuth Solar and solar instructor for IEC Chesapeake adds, “With Quick Mount PV flashing being a recognized standard for 100% code-compliant, watertight roof mounts, the donated material will be an excellent way to demonstrate the functionality of and address the safety aspects related to roof mounted PV systems.”

“Furthermore, as IEC Chesapeake continues to expand its roster of renewable energy training throughout the mid-Atlantic region, the support of manufacturers such as Quick Mount PV, helps to strengthen its impression within the Green industry as a reputable resource for solar training,” conveys IEC Chesapeake business development representative, Mervin Munoz.
