The electrical contractor recognized the hardworking men and women who teach or are enrolled in its in-house Apprenticeship Training Program.
The U.S. Department of Labor recently held its annual National Apprenticeship Week, and Holliston, Mass.-based Wayne J. Griffin Electric celebrated the event by recognizing the hardworking men and women who teach or are enrolled in the company’s in-house Apprenticeship Training Program. An electrical subcontractor throughout New England and the Southeast for nearly 45 years, Griffin Electric understands the importance of this federal initiative and has been proud to participate in each of the eight years since its inception.

The company provided a gift for every instructor and apprentice in each of its office locations in Holliston; Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; Charlotte, N.C.; Pelham, Ala.; and Doraville, Ga. Additionally, Griffin Electric raffled off a series of prizes while also providing food trucks or catered lunch to everyone during their Saturday classes. The company knows first-hand that its success would not be possible without the tireless efforts of these individuals and is pleased to be able to demonstrate its appreciation for all that they do throughout the year.

Throughout the Apprenticeship Training Program’s school year, classroom and hands-on instruction take place in the 27,500 sq ft of dedicated training space that is part of the company’s headquarters in Holliston, and on-site at each of its regional offices in the Southeast.

Griffin’s apprentices earn excellent compensation and are eligible for wage increases every six months, based on grades and work performance. They also receive full benefits while having the opportunity to gain 8,000 hours of practical field experience under the supervision of a licensed journeyperson. By promoting a culture of consistent development and giving employees the tools they need to be successful, Griffin Electric allows its team members to achieve fulfilling and successful careers in the electrical and telecommunications trade, including the potential for future advancement into leadership roles.

Griffin Electric helps guide apprentices on the “pathway to [their] potential,” and has prepared hundreds of men and women in pursuit of their licenses through its electrical and telecommunications program for almost 30 years. The free, in-house program is accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research and designated as an approved training site by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
