Maryland College Launches Electrical Apprenticeship Program

The four-year program includes 576 classroom hours and 8,000 hours of work experience.

Garrett College (McHenry, Md.) partnered with local businesses to offer an electrical apprenticeship program, which combines hands-on and online learning, to help fill the skilled labor gap for master electricians.

Mike Holt’s Electrical Apprenticeship Curriculum, based on the National Electrical Code, is used for the program’s online content. Hands-on lab work will be conducted at the Career Technology Training Center in Accident, Md.

The four-year program includes 576 classroom hours and 8,000 hours of work experience.
