As the broader U.S. economy showed signs of a slow recovery in 2010, the total revenue for electrical and datacom services reported by the firms on this year’s Top 50 electrical contractors list took yet another hit from the ongoing recession in the construction industry. Together, the firms on the 2011 Top 50 electrical contractors list earned $11.9 billion in total revenue for electrical and datacom services, a 6.3% drop from the $12.7 billion reported for 2009.
