I recently was looking at a home owners electrical work and noticed that he had excessive lengths of NMC sheath inside outlet boxes and a panel board. I informed him that the NEC required only a 1/4" of sheath to enter the box or panel he said he read in the NEC and that art 334 stated that a minimum of 1/4" was required with no reference to the maximum. I was shock and read the article and sure enough it so stated. Can anyone provide some clarification on this issue. Thanks Mike
