Q. Is an equipment grounding conductor allowed to serve dual duty as a grounding electrode conductor?

A. No. An equipment grounding conductor isn't permitted to be used as a grounding electrode conductor [250,121], except as permitted for photovoltaic systems in accordance with 690.47(C).
