Features include oil shear technology and a patented fluid recirculation system.

MagnaShear maintenance-free, no-adjustment motor brakes from Force Control Industries employ oil shear technology, which the company says provides longer service life in demanding applications like the frequent start/stop cycles seen on cranes, hoists, winches, and other equipment. Featuring a patented fluid recirculation system dissipates heat, the brake is also suitable for use in applications where the motor is reversed each cycle. Spring set torque ratings from 3 ft-lb to 1,250 ft-lb are available. In addition, the moisture-, dirt-, and dust-proof products are available in multiple torques for the same motor frame. Other highlights include “quick mount” for quick and easy mounting to drive motors in NEMA frame sizes 56 to 449, multiple disc design for high thermal capacity and up to 80% lower rotating inertia.
