Designed for use with Ford automobiles, the Ford electric vehicle (EV) home charging station is UL 2231, UL 2251, and UL 2594 certified. The Level 2 charger provides up to 32A at 240VAC (7.7 kW output) and can fully charge a Ford Focus Electric's battery in approximately 3 hr, which the company says is more than four times faster than the standard portable charger. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, the device is made from nearly 60% recycled materials and features a low-energy standby power design for a 50 %to 80% reduced carbon footprint. Other features include a ground monitor circuit, built-in communication, and an auto-restart function, which allows charging to restart following a minor fault.
