Polartec flame-resistant (FR) fabric will not melt or drip on skin and is warmer than traditional FR wovenfabrics, according to the company. The High Visibility FR long sleeve T-shirt, made of Polartec Power Dry FR fabric, features bi-component knit construction designed to move moisture away from skin and dry quickly. This garment is NFPA 70E HRC2 and ANSI certified. Made of Polartec Thermal FR fabric, the sweatshirts, fleece garments, and jacket liners feature single and double velour construction that creates air pockets to trap air and retain body heat.
Dual-hazard knit shirts
Featuring TenCate Tecasafe Plus fabric, these dual-hazard knit shirts protect against both arc flash and flash fire and meet Hazard Risk Category 2 requirements in NFPA 70E. Made to withstand the rigors of industrial laundering, these knits offer features such as longer tails, raglan sleeves on the T-shirts, and high-low hems on the polo styles. According to the company, the products retain their strength, shape, and color after repeated launderings, and the FR protection cannot be worn or washed away.
The company’s line of FR work garments now features UltraSoft AC fabric made of 88% Pima cotton and 12% high-tenacity nylon blend. Work shirts and coveralls are offered in 7-oz medium-blue or khaki (8.3 cal/cm²), while coveralls and work pants are made with 9-oz navy (12 cal/cm²) fabric. Work shirts are available with multiple pockets, pocket flaps, and short sleeves. The work pants offer cargo pockets, FR hook-and-loop adjusters, and additional knee reinforcement patches. In addition to their arc flash protection, the 7-oz khaki and medium-blue work shirts and coveralls are UL garment certified to NFPA 2112 for flash fire resistance.
