RALEIGH, N.C. (December 7, 2001) - Powerware Corporation, a business unit within Invensys plc, has been awarded a seven-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract by the U.S. Air Force's Air Logistics Center (ALC), Hill AFB, Utah. The seven-year IDIQ contract has an estimated cumulative value of $76 million.

Under the terms of the contract, Powerware will provide power reliability products and complete turnkey services including engineering, project management, system integration, installation, training and onsite maintenance services. Products will include online, double conversion UPSs ranging in size from 125kVA to 1000kVA, ancillary electrical equipment, and spare parts. The total power solution is designed and engineered to deliver the highest level of system reliability and availability supporting the Air Force's mission-critical applications.

The Air Force awarded the contract to Powerware after competitively evaluating technical, management and cost criteria. Effective immediately, this contract represents the third such award by the U.S. Air Force to Powerware for UPS equipment and system integration. The previous contracts were awarded to Exide Electronics Group Inc. (now operating as Powerware Corporation) in 1988 and 1996.
