While most of our lighting needs are serviced by T-8 fixtures, we still have T-12 fixtures in certain areas of our plant. A couple days ago, I had to change out a T-12 ballast, and the bulbs did not light afterward. I got new bulbs, another new ballast, sockets – the works.
Then I discovered that these new electronic ballasts for T-12 - 2 HO tube ballasts, need the power recycled after replacing bulbs, before they will re-light.This is a real nuisance, climbing down out of the ceiling, killing whole rows of lights, etc, just to see if the job is done.
Anybody got a (tested) good part number (without naming brands of course) of an electronic ballast, whose designers had practicality and common sense in their design.
I'm not at the level to take it on my own to order them to T-8 compliance, so I don't need that advice.
