One of Michigan's newest and largest transmission companies, the Michigan Electric Transmission Company (METC, LLC) is seeking qualified and experienced people to fill the following positions.
As a senior level position managing the transmission planning department and directly reporting to the COO, responsibilities include: supervising and guiding planning engineers and representing the company with ISO, RTO, distribution companies, municipals and regulatory bodies. In addition, duties involve preparing short and long term plans; defining projects; providing analytical help to the engineering, design and operations departments; preparing project and annual budgets; performing reliability and risk assessments. This position also requires the ability to prepare request for proposals and evaluate study contractors and assess their work. Qualifications require a BS degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of ten years of transmission planning and/or operations experience in an electric utility or as a consultant. Understanding of deregulation, open access and market based electric utility planning and operation aspects is essential. Must have extensive verbal and written communication skills. Active Professional Engineering registration and license is desired.
