Guarantee Electrical Co. is marking 110 years of legendary innovation. Founded in 1902 to electrify the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair, Guarantee now employs more than 600 salaried professionals and field personnel, making it one of the larger electrical contractors in the United States. In addition to a 120,000-sq-ft urban campus in St. Louis that features a state-of-the-art fabrication center and multiple warehouses, it operates offices in Illinois, Colorado, and California. The company reported revenues of $136 million for its fiscal year ending September 30. Primary markets served include health care, data centers, heavy industrial, institutional, education, hospitality, and government.
A 1950s pioneer in design-build, Guarantee is a nationally acknowledged leader in the discipline. The firm provides full-scope electrical contracting, including comprehensive engineering and design services, LEED/green construction, prefabrication, value engineering, lean construction, service and preventive maintenance. In addition, Guarantee is a leader nationally in communication and security systems.
Guarantee also is an industry pioneer in empowering its employees. The one-time family-owned company is nearing completion of a multi-year transition to employee ownership.
“It is gratifying to lead a team that is so deeply committed to sharing their well-developed talents with the buyers of construction,” said Guarantee Chairman and CEO Rick Oertli.
Guarantee also is celebrating its 50th anniversary as a founding member of the Federated Electrical Contractors, an affiliation of 33 major electrical contractors with offices in cities across North America, Europe, and Asia initiated in 1962.
