• San Diego-based Trade Service announced that Supplier Xchange, its network used by electrical distributors and contractors to communicate customer-specific price quotes in real time, logged $121 million in quote activity during September. Since Supplier Xchange was introduced in January, the dollar volume has been steadily increasing.

  • Tampa, Fla.-based BICSI, the association supporting the information transport systems (ITS) industry with information, education, and knowledge assessment, has teamed up with IHS, Englewood, Colo., to offer a subscription service to BICSI standards and manuals to maintain a complete lifecycle of BICSI products.   • Centennial, Colo.-based Diogen Lighting and its seasonal lighting division Holiday Creations have entered into a long-term brand and endorsement licensing agreement with the producers of the TV series Living with Ed and its co-star Ed Begley Jr. The marketing relationship will include personal appearances at trade shows and key industry and customer meetings.

  • Emerson Network Power celebrated the opening of its Learning Center in Westerville, Ohio. The nearly 70,000-sq-ft building, located on five acres, will provide hands-on data center infrastructure support training for more than 1,000 students per year.

  • Durham, N.C.-based Cree announced the expansion of its North Carolina manufacturing capacity and the addition of North Carolina-based green jobs as the market for energy-efficient LED lighting continues to expand. Cree expects to add 275 jobs during 2009 to serve the expansion of LED manufacturing capacity and other staffing needs at its Durham, N.C.-based facility. Cree anticipates creating an additional 300 jobs by the end of 2012.
