  • KAI Texas, Dallas, will serve as architect and M/E/P engineer on the new Highland Hills Branch Library in Dallas. The environmentally friendly library will be designed to achieve Washington, D.C.-based U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.

  • Para Systems , Carrollton, Texas, recently announced the availability of two new extended warranty options, allowing purchasers of Minuteman uninterruptible power system (UPS) supplies to lengthen the warranty period from three to five years. This new offering is in response to customer requests to provide warranty coverage through the life of a leasing contract or depreciation terms for new servers, data storage systems, security systems, or telephone/VoIP systems.

  • EMCOR Group, Norwalk, Conn., recently reported that its Welsbach Electric subsidiary, College Point, N.Y., has been awarded a contract to install electrical street lights for the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT). Welsbach Electric will be responsible for furnishing and installing 83,000 electronic 100W and 150W energy-efficient cobra-head streetlight fixtures throughout the New York City boroughs of Manhattan, Staten Island, and The Bronx.

  • OSRAM, Munich, Germany, has extended the existing license with Everlight Electronics Co., Taiwan, about manufacturing and sales of white and colored LEDs with conversion technology for all applications. These patents are owned by OSRAM. In return, Everlight granted to OSRAM a license to use housing patents of Everlight.
