Lighting manufacturer Lutron Electronics, Coopersburg, Pa., has donated thousands of products to Habitat for Humanity, Americus, Ga. The donation, including thousands of energy-saving dimmers, is available for use in Habitat for Humanity projects throughout the United States.
Singletouch Corp, Phoenix-based developer of a data-capture platform for electrical contractors in industrial construction, has secured a new customer with Chemco Electrical Contractors, Edmonton, Canada. The deal will see Singletouch roll out its comprehensive data-capture product line across Chemco’s entire organization.
McCormick Systems, Chandler, Ariz., recently presented a check for $100,000 to ELECTRI International, Bethesda, Md. McCormick’s $100,000 cash investment in ELECTRI International will support both the Education Center and the new Transmission & Distribution Enterprise, a dedicated fund within the Research Center that focuses on research and education for line constructors.
EMCOR Group Norwalk, Conn., recently announced that KDC Systems, Los Alamitos, Calif., a division of EMCOR’s Dynalectric Los Angeles subsidiary, has received a contract for the installation of the electrical systems related to new automated baggage handling and screening systems at Mineta San Jose International Airport in California. KDC Systems’ scope of work includes installation of control panels, along with all conduit, wiring and, control devices, as well as the installation of all related devices such as photo eyes, start-stop stations, and motors.
The commercial division of Palmer Electric Co. has secured a nearly $300,000 contract with H. J. High Construction, Orlando, for the electrical contracting for North Park Baptist Church in Baldwin Park in downtown Orlando, Fla. Under its scope of services, Palmer Electric is providing site and building electrical services for the new two-story, 18,000-square-foot facility composed of worship space, classrooms, a pre-school, and administrative offices. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2009.
