Tyco International Ltd., Pembroke, Bermuda, recently approved the spin-offs of its healthcare and electronics businesses through a tax-free dividend distribution to Tyco International shareholders. The three businesses being created through the separation are: Tyco International Ltd., Covidien, formerly Tyco Healthcare, and Tyco Electronics.
Little Neck, N.Y.-based Leviton Manufacturing recently entered into a strategic alliance with EMC Colosio, a producer of lampholders and cabling products, based in Provalgio d’Iseo, Italy. According to the terms of the agreement, Leviton will serve as the exclusive supplier of Colosio’s lampholder and lighting products throughout North America, and Colosio will serve as the exclusive distributor for Leviton’s lampholders and other OEM products in Europe and other international markets it serves.
Upper Marlboro, Md.-based Capital Lighting & Supply recently hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for its new 200,000-square-foot headquarters and central distribution center. The facility is being built in the Eastgate Business Park near the interchange of Pennsylvania Avenue and I-495 near Andrews Air Force Base and is expected to be fully operational by next summer.
