Eaton has announced a collaboration with the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) to highlight the critical power management solutions helping the healthcare industry safeguard patients and data. Eaton experts will develop in-depth, technical content focused on advancing energy efficiency and power resiliency through lighting, critical power and building efficiency solutions transforming healthcare environments.
“Healthcare is one of the world’s largest industries and relies on solutions that set new standards of safety, power reliability and efficiency to transform lives,” said Justin Carron, global healthcare segment manager at Eaton. “Eaton looks forward to working with ASHE to address the power management challenges of tomorrow, so that healthcare providers can focus their investment on patient care.”
As part of the collaboration, Eaton will publish two white papers and webinars on modern power management approaches to achieving resiliency and advancing energy efficiency. Eaton experts will provide guidance on how to construct or retrofit critical electrical infrastructure, while supporting always-on power, even in the event of a major storm or power outage. Additionally, Eaton will provide in-depth information on how to implement LED lighting and integrated control platforms, ranging from multi-facility campuses to single outpatient providers.
Eaton will also develop Performance Improvement Measures (PIMs) to support ASHE’s Sustainability Roadmap for Hospitals and the Energy to Care program. The resources will provide ASHE members with free, practical tools to better understand how to reduce their energy costs and environmental footprint. Eaton’s Performance Improvement Measures and case studies will focus on:
- Lighting solutions yielding dramatic improvements in energy efficiency
- Highly-efficient uninterruptible power systems (UPSs) to support always-on power for the essential electrical system
- Advanced adjustable frequency drive technology (AFDs) to reduce energy consumption and costs
