Hydrogen Burner Technology (HbT), Rancho Dominguez, Calif., has formed an alliance with Visteon Corp., Dearborn, Mich., to commercialize HbT's hydrogen fuel processors in proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel-cell systems.

The agreement calls for Visteon to provide engineering, design, and support services to HbT for its fuel processors, including design and manufacturing for HbT's Rancho Dominguez facility. Visteon will also provide contract manufacturing as HbT's customer volume grows.

“Visteon's vast experience in manufacturing will significantly accelerate our efforts to accomplish targeted unit cost reductions in order to achieve large-scale, commercial production of our fuel processors,” says HbT president and CEO David Moard.

HbT specializes in prepackaged, on-site hydrogen generation for industrial use and fuel processors for residential, remote, and premium power fuel cells.
