Facebook’s Prineville, Ore., Data Center Power Use More Than Doubled Last Year

Facebook discloses 2012 Prineville, Ore., data center power use.

According to Facebook, its Prineville, Ore., data center used 153 million kWh of power in 2012, which is more than twice what it used the year before. Due to increasing demand, Facebook plans to bring a second 330,000-sq-ft data center online this year, and is building a separate “cold storage” facility on the 127-acre Prineville site.
