Chicago-based Kelso-Burnett is blowing out the candles on a century of business this year. “We’re extremely proud to have reached this milestone,” says Brad Weir, president of Kelso-Burnett. “It has been a privilege to serve the Chicago Metropolitan area for 100 years. Our uncompromising commitment to excellence and innovation has helped us grow from a modest two-man shop into one of the oldest and largest full-service electrical contractors in the region. We look forward to serving Chicago for centuries to come.”

As the company turns 100, Kelso-Burnett is working on a legendary Chicago building — the Palmer House Hilton. The historic Palmer House Hilton is now 135 years old, making it the oldest continuously operational hotel in the world. As it entered the new millennium, it began to show its age and is thus currently undergoing a $270-million remodel. Kelso-Burnett was awarded the project and is handling most of the electrical work.
