IEC Atlanta and Georgia chapters welcomed new members last month. IEC Atlanta welcomed Spec Group LLC as a new contractor member. Spec Group was established in 2008 and is based in Atlanta. The bulk of their clients are commercial; however, Spec Group does perform some residential and low-voltage work as well. With nore than 20 years of experience, the owner, Tim Porter runs Spec Group smoothly with a staff of 12 workers. Porter works closely with retired chief inspector of Dekalb County, David Moss, on estimating and project development; followed by whom he might call his right-hand, Heath O’Barr, who makes certain customer expectations are delivered. Spec Group LLC signed on with IEC to use the loan-borrow program, training and networking opportunities. “I’m looking forward to connecting and gathering information from other members, as well as being a valuable resource to them,” says Porter.
IEC Georgia welcomed Coastal Electric of Georgia, Inc. as its newest member. Coastal Electric of Georgia is owned and operated by William Robert Adams and Robbie Jones. The company is new; being in business just a year, but it is backed by more than 20 years of experience in the electrical trade. Their current staff consists of four employees. Coastal Electric of Georgia does commercial, multi-family and residential work in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. They are located in the Savannah area.
