Aurora, Ohio-based TCP, Inc., manufacturer of compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), recently teamed up with Atlanta, Ga.-based InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) to launch an environmental initiative to replace more than 250,000 incandescent light bulbs with CFLs in guest rooms at more than 200 company-managed hotels. The partnership was a part of IHG's "Chase The Extraordinary" road tour, during which IHG executives visited company-managed hotels in more than 30 states and 12 countries to rally employees around 2007 initiatives, of which the light bulb changeover was the lead effort.

In addition, TCP donated 15,000 CFLs to employees of IHG's properties for use in their homes so that they had the opportunity to adopt the practice being implemented at the hotels.
