PayneCrest Electric, Ferraz Shawmut, PEARL

  • St. Louis-based PayneCrest Electric and Communications recently won the Construction Keystone Awards, hosted by the Associated General Contractors of St. Louis in the Project of the Year, Specialty Contractor, Industrial/Infrastructure Construction – $5 Million or More category for its work on the Holcim Cement Plant, Ste. Genevieve, Mo.

  • Newburyport, Mass.-based Ferraz Shawmut recently launched Ferraz Shawmut Electrical Services, which provides consulting and training services designed to help customers protect against arc-flash and other electrical hazards. Services will include electrical safety and compliance consulting, project management, arc-flash hazard assessments, short circuit audits, one-line drawing development, coordination studies, safety program development and audits, power electronics reviews, and employee safety training.

  • Electrical apparatus reconditioners, P&F Supply Co., Grand Rapids, Mich., and R.N.T. Supply, Jackson, Mich., recently passed full site certifications from the Professional Electrical Apparatus Recyclers League (PEARL), the Aurora, Colo.-based technical trade association concerned with standards-based reconditioning and reuse of commercial and industrial electrical apparatus. This certification allows both P&F Supply Co., and R.N.T. Supply to safely recondition and evaluate electrical apparatus, from circuit breakers to motor controls and transformers, using the applicable PEARL standards.

  • Moeller Electric has become CopperLogic, Houston. Moeller industrial control products will now be represented exclusively in the United States and Canada by CopperLogic.

  • Norwalk, Conn.-based EMCOR Group recently announced that its Welsbach Electric subsidiary, College Point, N.Y., has received a contract for the installation of fire detection and alarm systems at Amtrak’s New York Pennsylvania (Penn) Station. Welsbach Electric's work for Penn Station consists of removal of existing fire detection and alarm equipment and installation of new fire detection and alarm equipment in the Penn Station Central Control Building.
