Power Efficiency Corp., Palmer Electric, Hargis Electric

  • Biel, Switzerland-based IXYS Corp. and Las Vegas-based Power Efficiency Corp. jointly announced that they have received the first order for Power Efficiency’s single-phase motor efficiency controllers. The 1,000 units are being sold for a retrofit application in the United States. The customer expects to make additional purchases for this application in the future.

  • Winter Park, Fla.-based Palmer Electric has completed its $13 million electrical contract for the new Waldorf Astoria Orlando hotel at the Bonnet Creek Resort, Orlando, Fla. Palmer provided design/assist and electrical contracting services for the site and building electrical along with the installation of low-voltage systems for dimming, fire alarm, and lightning protection.

  • Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, Inc, Anaheim, Calif., has announced the enhancement of its Gold Star Warranty Program for Isuzu-built N-Series and Chevrolet/GMC W-Series class 3-5 used trucks. This limited powertrain warranty coverage is available on inspected and qualified 2002 and newer vehicles at over 225 nationwide Isuzu commercial truck dealers.

  • GE Consumer & Industrial's electrical business recently signed a strategic alliance agreement with Validus DC Systems, Brookfield, Conn., to promote the new GE and Validus DC Data Center System. In addition to providing improved end-to-end reliability, the new system can lower facility costs for equipment, real estate, and energy, effectively reducing the total cost of ownership by 30% to 50%.

  • Paris, Texas-based Hargis Electric was recognized as the best-performing service company by Nexstar Network, an affiliation of independent service providers. The company was awarded the Select Service Award of Excellence in front of an annual gathering of Nexstar members in Detroit on October 1st.
