Greenlee, Kaiser Electric, SolarWorld

  • Rockford, Ill.-based Greenlee announced the rebranding of its utility products line from Fairmont to Greenlee Utility, effective immediately. Fairmont’s authorized distributors are now authorized Greenlee Utility distributors for the same products with the same distribution channel remaining in place.

  • Fenton, Mo.-based Kaiser Electric was responsible for installing power for three water features, light fixtures, and lighting controls for the Citygarden, St. Louis. The project required more than five miles of underground conduit and 1,000 light fixtures to illuminate its 2.9 acres.

  • The Hillsborough, Ore.-based facility of SolarWorld, Bonn, Germany, will become the first fully integrated monocrystalline photovoltaic (PV) plant in the Americas -- starting with polysilicon and ending with Sunmodules -- when the plant adds module assembly in mid-2010, the company recently announced. A new, 210,000-sq-f t building nearing completion next to SolarWorld’s 480,000-sq-ft main U.S. factory will house 350MW of annual module-manufacturing capacity.

  • Siemens recently announced the appointment of Daryl D. Dulaney, 56, as president and CEO of the newly formed Siemens Industry, Inc., the U.S. affiliate of Siemens’ global industry sector business. Effective Oct. 1, Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc.; Siemens Transportation Systems, Inc.; Siemens Building Technologies, Inc.; and Siemens VAI Services, LLC merged, and the resulting corporation was renamed "Siemens Industry, Inc."

  • Stockholm, Sweden-based Skanska has secured an assignment to construct a new library on a major university campus in Raleigh, N.C. The contract amount is $87 million.
