  • Middletown, Pa.-based Phoenix Contact recently opened its Customer Technology Center in Houston. The 15,000-square-foot CTC features a large demonstration room, a training facility and an application lab, as well as office space and a small warehouse.
  • The joint venture between Fairfax, Va.-based Lee Technologies and Norfolk, Va.-based Z Corp was awarded a $12.7 million contract from NASA. Under the terms of the contract, Lee Technologies and Z Corp will construct a new centralized UPS and emergency generator facility to enhance operational reliability, replacing several older generators and UPS systems at the John C. Stennis Space Center, Bay St. Louis, Miss.
  • El Segundo, Calif.-based Data Display Products (DDP) has partnered with the California Lighting Technology Center (CLTC) at the University of California, Davis, Calif., to support the development and implementation of energy-efficient LED lighting fixtures in general illumination applications. DDP’s collaboration with the CLTC is directed at enhancing LED architectural lighting technology, including residential and commercial, per Energy Star qualifications and California’s Title 24 compliancy legislation.
  • Shelton, Conn.-based GE Supply is now called Gexpro. The name change follows the acquisition of GE Supply by Rexel, Paris, which will keep Gexpro running as an independent Rexel banner in the United States
  • Huntington Beach, Calif.-based IEPC Corp. is offering a five-year re-lamping program as part of the lease or purchase of its VB400 lighting control. Under the program, IEPC provides new lamps with the installation of its universal ballast and replaces them at the end of each year for the first five years.
