Hint: New math: Addition = Violation

This installation shows where a second meter was added to the existing meter, which appears to violate the rules outlined in 110.2 and 110.14 of the NEC.

As per 110.2, “The conductors and equipment required or permitted by this Code shall be acceptable only if approved. FPN: See 90.7, Examination of Equipment for Safety, and 110.3, Examination, Identification, Installation, and Use of Equipment. See definitions of Approved, Identified, Labeled, and Listed.”

As per 110.14(A), “Connection of conductors to terminal shall ensure a thoroughly good connection without damaging the conductors and shall be made by means of pressure connectors (including set-screw type), solder lugs, or splices flexible leads. Connection by means of wire-binding screws, studs, and nuts that have upturned lugs or the equivalent be permitted for 10 AWG or smaller conductors. Terminals for more than one conductor and terminals used to connect aluminum shall be so identified.”
