Oklahoma Adopts 2014 NEC

The Oklahoma Uniform Building Code Commission has completed the rulemaking process to update adopted commercial codes.

The Oklahoma Uniform Building Code Commission has completed the rulemaking process to update adopted commercial codes.  The National Electrical Manufacturers Association reported on Sept. 28 that this includes moving from the 2011 to the 2014 edition of the National Electrical Code.

It also includes moving from the 2009 to the 2015 editions of the International Building Code, International Existing Building Code, International Fire Code, International Fuel Gas Code, International Mechanical Code, and International Plumbing Code.

The updated commercial codes will go into effect on Nov. 1, 2015.
