Connecticut Committee Votes for Acceptance of Building, Fire Codes

The vote came on Aug. 10, 2016, and the two documents will now be sent to the Legislative Regulatory Review and Public Safety and Security Committee.

NEMA's Connecticut Codes and Standards Committee has voted to accept the "Proposed 2016 State Building Codes" and the "2016 State Fire Safety Code." The vote came on Aug. 10, 2016, and the two documents will now be sent to the Legislative Regulatory Review and Public Safety and Security Committee for final acceptance and promulgation.  

According to NEMA, the anticipated date for adoption is Oct. 1, 2016.

The 2016 CT Building Code will be based on the 2012 I-Codes and the 2014 NEC.

The 2016 CT Fire Safety Code is based on the 2012 IFC and the 2012 NFPA 101 Life Safety Code.
