As per 620.24(A), “A separate branch circuit shall supply the hoistway pit lighting and receptacle(s). Required lighting shall not be connected to the load side of a ground-fault circuit interrupter.”

As per 620.24(B), “The lighting switch shall be so located as to be readily accessible from the pit access door.”

As per 620.24(C), “At least one 125-volt, single-phase, GFCI type duplex receptacle shall be provided in the hoistway pit.”
