According to the 2005 NEC, premises wiring systems that supply branch circuits and feeders from one nominal voltage system shall identify ungrounded conductors by which of the following means?

A) Black, red, and blue color coding
B) Brown, orange, and yellow color coding
C) Brown, purple, and yellow color coding
D) There is no requirement for this identification as presented in this question

Answer: D)

Explanation: Per a 2005 NEC change, which is an addition to the 2005 NEC, premises wiring systems that supply branch circuits [210.5(C)] and feeders [215.12(C)] supplied from more than one nominal voltage system shall identify ungrounded conductors by color coding, marking tape, tagging, or other approved means and shall be permanently posted at each branch-circuit or feeder panelboard or similar branch-circuit or feeder distribution equipment.

The NEC doesn’t specify any color-coding where color-coding is used to identify branch-circuits and feeders as described in 210.5(C) and 215.12(C).
