NEMA Reactivates Standard for Polyphase Induction Motors for Power Generating Stations

NEMA has reactivated and published ANSI/NEMA C50.41, "American National Standard Polyphase Induction Motors for Power Generating Stations"

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has reactivated and published ANSI/NEMA C50.41, "American National Standard Polyphase Induction Motors for Power Generating Stations." Reactivated with ANSI approval, ANSI/NEMA C50.41-2012 applies requirements to polyphase induction motors intended for use in power generating stations including:

  • frame size larger than NEMA 440 series
  • squirrel-cage type
  • single speed or multispeed
  • horizontal or vertical construction
  • form wound
