  • Under the terms of a joint initiative, Solar Night Industries, St. Louis, will be the major supplier to solar design and installation firm Cherokee Diversified, Terrell, Texas. The companies hope the partnership will promote solar technology to homeowners, business, educational instiutions, and developers in the Southwest.

  • Atlanta-based GenTran Corp., designer and manufacturer of generator transfer systems for residential and light commercial backup and temporary power applications, recently received national certification as a Women's Business Enterprise by the Georgia Women's Business Council, a regional certifying partner of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). WBENC's certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or women.

  • Chicago-based Communications Supply Corp. (CSC) recently entered into a definitive agreement with WESCO International, Inc. whereby WESCO will acquire Communications Supply Holdings, Inc., the parent company of CSC, from Harvest Partners LLC, a New York based private equity firm. The transaction is expected to close by early November 2006.
