Trade Show to Celebrate NECA's 100th Anniversary

You won't have to be a NECA member to see what's on display from more than 250 exhibitors at the 47th Annual NECA Show, held Oct. 21-23 in Washington, D.C. You won't even have to be a contractor. At America's leading power and cabling exposition, there'll be something for all types of electrical professionals, including engineers, plant maintenance personnel, and utility executives.

NECA's more than 4,000 member companies and their staffs will gather at the Washington Convention Center to celebrate NECA's 100th birthday and view the latest products, equipment, and services in the electrical industry. A special products room will highlight new product innovations from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, and from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

In addition, a slew of seminars will address a wide variety of electrical contracting management issues as well as a number of research reports on projects funded by the Electrical Contracting Foundation. These sessions will offer expert instruction on the latest in lighting, computers, telecom, fiber optics, power quality, management, codes and standards, and estimating.

Preceding the NECA Show on Oct. 19-21, the Cable U program will offer attendees the latest in voice/data/video training, covering both Cat. 5 and fiber optics as used in computer networks, and phone and security systems. Training will include hands-on sessions focusing on building installation skills. The program will cover the basics of cabling technologies; how various networks use cabling; commercial, home, and MTU applications; cabling termination and testing; and estimating and bidding.

For the $600 class fee, each Cable U student will get a full set of presentation slides, reference materials, a copy of the textbook Data, Voice, and Video Cabling, and admission to the NECA Show.

For more information on the conference, call (301)215-4506 or fax (415) 979-2275. To register online, visit www.necashow.org.
