First Annual Datacom Forum Held for Electrical Contractors

Sponsored by Thomas & Betts, Southwire, American Cable Systems (ACS), and Primedia Intertec (publisher of EC&M, CEE News and Electrical Wholesaling), the first Electrical Contractors Datacom Forum will be held Sunday, June 6, at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. Conference registration begins at 11 a.m., there is no fee to participate, and lunch will be provided. Designed to help electrical contractors navigate their businesses into the lucrative datacom market, the forum will investigate the future of the datacom industry, business opportunities for contractors, datacom standards and cabling, LAN installation tips, and alternative wire management systems.

As the industry’s first cooperative initiative to increase awareness of the market, the Datacom Forum will be held in conjunction with the 1999 BICSI Spring Conference in Nashville, which begins Monday, June 7 at the Opryland Hotel.

Paul Rosenberg, Consulting Datacom Editor of EC&M, will deliver the keynote address—discussing the future of the industry and challenges of entering the market. An expert in the datacom industry, Rosenberg has written extensively on topics ranging from low-voltage wiring and project management to estimating and datacom wiring. Immediately following the keynote address, four afternoon discussion sessions will be led by Thomas & Betts, Southwire, and ACS.

To register, fax your name, title, company, address, and phone and fax numbers to (770) 832-4616, or call (770) 832-4121. For more information, please contact Laurie Bick at (901) 252-5000, ext. 8518.
